Coaching Information

West Bridgford Colts Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Club. This is the highest level of Club status within the FA accreditation system and acknowledges the most advanced level of club development and football provision.

There are a number of benefits that this status brings the Club, but it also requires us to ensure that all our teams have coaches who are qualified and that these are regularly updated.

The requirements are as follows:

  • All coaches must have an in date CRC check.
  • Each youth team i.e. up to U19’s must have; one qualified coach (with an FA Level 1 award), one coach with an in-date FA emergency first aid certificate, and one coach with an in-date FA safeguarding children certificate.

The club actively supports coaches to ensure we comply with the above requirements. We will endeavour to ensure coaches are notified if their qualifications are about to expire and we will pay for FA level 1, FA emergency first aid qualifications and CRC checks. The Club may fund FA Level 2 courses and these will be reviewed on a case by case basis – please apply to the Club Secretary.

FA coaching qualification

If you want to attend a Level 1 course please email the club administrator Julie Lazarus to book  and you will be advised when a course is next available and how to book.

FA Emergency Aid Qualification

All teams, including adult teams, need one first aider and where the first aider is a player then we need two. This is always conducted by way of a face to face workshop and is valid for 3 years, after which time the course will need to be attended again to renew the qualification. These courses are county wide and in high demand so please allow a few months to find a course with availability that is convenient. If you need to book on a course please email Julie Lazarus and you will be sent the link to view courses.

CRC Check

All coaches who work with youth teams (up until u19) must have an in date FA CRC check which is valid for 3 years irrespective. If a coaches CRC lapses then the FA expects the coach to step down until new one is in place. All CRC checks are administered by Julie Lazarus and we recommend you please contact Julie 5/6 weeks before expiry.

Safeguarding

All youth teams (up until u19) need one coach per team with an in-date FA safeguarding children certificate which is a face to face workshop valid for 3 years and then all renewals can be done online. Please click here to renew. Any new coaches that need to attend a face to face workshop please email Julie Lazarus to book onto a course.

Coaches Club

As a club we recommend all coaches join the Nottinghamshire FA coaches club which is free and as a member, you’re entitled to first access to bespoke CPD sessions.  http://www.nottinghamshirefa.com/coaches/coaching-support/coaches-club
